Senior HSE Officer

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct regular site inspections (daily, weekly, and bi-weekly) and ensure timely closure of at least 90% of corrective actions by contractors and relevant parties.
Ensure full compliance with national OHS regulations and project HSE standards.
Conduct preliminary incident investigations and ensure implementation of effective corrective actions.
Coordinate HSE training and awareness programmes, ensure completion of all required training, monitor environmental compliance, and conduct/review risk assessments and EIAs.
Regularly review and update HSE plans, policies, procedures, and rules, while actively promoting and maintaining a strong safety culture across the project.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field, along with professional certification in NEBOSH, IOSH, or OSHA.
4–7 years of relevant industry experience with strong expertise in risk assessment and HSE management.
Knowledge and understanding of ISO 45001 standards.
Proven leadership skills in developing and promoting a strong safety culture.
