QA QC Engineer – Laboratory

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct or supervise tests on a wide range of construction materials to ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Ensure all tests are carried out strictly according to relevant standards, including ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and ISO.
  • Analyze test results to verify that materials meet required specifications and quality benchmarks.
  • Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures within the laboratory, maintaining a high level of accuracy and control.
  • Maintain the calibration of all laboratory equipment and instruments to guarantee reliable and precise test results.
  • Conduct internal audits and inspections to ensure continuous compliance with quality systems and procedures, including ISO standards.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review accurate test reports, logs, and quality records. Review and approve material test reports and certifications from external sources.
  • Coordinate with site engineers, consultants, and client representatives on quality-related issues. Provide technical support and guidance regarding material specifications and testing procedures.
  • Participate in project quality meetings, providing expert input from a laboratory perspective.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a QA/QC Engineer, specifically in a construction materials laboratory.
    • Demonstrated experience with a variety of laboratory equipment and calibration procedures.
    • In-depth knowledge of international standards (ASTM, AASHTO, BS, ISO) for material testing.
    • Strong understanding of ISO standards and quality management systems.
    • Exceptional analytical and detail-oriented skills.
    • Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
    • Proven ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with various stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with QA/QC documentation and site coordination processes.
